In the fall of 2015, Ittaq launched a cyberatlas project to make knowledge about Clyde River’s environment accessible and useable to a diverse audience. Beginning with a focus on the marine environment, over the next few years, we will be assembling existing knowledge and adding new content from a wide range of sources. We will be prioritizing Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit and plan to make the most of the creative, multimedia, and visual capabilities of cyberatlas technology. We will showcase the knowledge of our Elders and harvesters by collaborating with our local talented photographers and videographers, documenting knowledge of our ocean, ice, and land. We will also be working with local experts to map key areas, document stories of placenames, create educational resources about our wildlife, and more. Stay tuned to our website to learn more about this exciting new project as it develops.
