Ittaq is proud to support Inuit film and television. At Ittaq we have professional staff and equipment to support quality video and sound production and editing.
In our building we have a professional soundbooth and video editing suite. We have collaborated on several media projects including television public service announcements for the Government of Nunavut’s Department of Health and Social Services, and Health Canada, vignettes and minidocumentaries for Natural Resources Canada and the National Aboriginal Health Organization, the Inuktitut versioning of Wapos Bay a stop motion animated family television series aired on APTN, and several documentary films including Qimmiit and The Nunavut Quest, both by local film production company Piksuk Media. Our media centre has also hosted several video and television training programs, including one territorial wide workshop in March 2009, and one regional workshop in March 2010. Currently, the media centre is working in collaboration with Piksuk Media to create a video game and website that will accompany and enrich the premier of the Nunavut Quest television series
